As a civil rights advocacy organization, the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) takes action to advance the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, housing, health and civil rights of the Hispanic population of the United States. LULAC is the largest and oldest Hispanic organization in the United States.
The Annual LULAC National Convention attracts over 20,000 participants including the top leaders from government, business, and the Hispanic community. The theme for this year’s 83rd Annual Convention is “America’s Latino Community Center Stage.”
Lupe de la Cruz, PepsiCo’s Senior Director of Government Affairs, will speak during LULAC’S Women’s Hall of Fame Luncheon, an event that focuses on the contributions made by Latinas to the U.S. and features the induction of 5 women into the LULAC Women’s Hall of Fame. De La Cruz will emphasize the importance of talent diversity and the role of Hispanic women in PepsiCo.
As part of La Promesa de PepsiCo, the company partners with LULAC to support Latino empowerment, education and employment opportunities. PepsiCo also continues to support LULAC’s Latinos Living Healthy program at designated cities across the country to help promote smart food choices and active lifestyles.
