Hispanic, Woman-owned Firm Becomes Strategic Supplier for Frito-Lay
Atlanta, Ga. (Sept. 14, 2007) – PS Energy Group, Inc., one of the nation’s
top 50 diversity-owned businesses, has signed a contract for delivery of bulk
fuels to Frito-Lay fleets as part of Frito-Lay North America’s minority- and
women-owned business enterprise (MWBE) bulk fuel initiative.
“Frito-Lay launched its supplier diversity program nearly 25 years ago because
we believe supporting minority- and women-owned companies is a tangible way to
build and support the communities where we work, live and serve,” said Jean
Lacefield, Supplier Diversity Manager for Frito-Lay North America. “PS Energy
Group is a logical partner for Frito-Lay because they are focused on the same
priorities – delivering quality products and top service.”
“One of the benefits of working with us is our ability to respond quickly to
changes in energy markets to address our customers’ needs,” said Livia
Whisenhunt, President, CEO and Founder of PS Energy Group. “Frito-Lay recognizes
the value of companies like ours, and has been an excellent partner.”
PS Energy Group also is working with PepsiCo, Frito-Lay’s corporate parent,
whose spending with MWBEs in the United States surpassed $1 billion for the
first time last year. This commitment to Supplier Diversity allows PepsiCo to
deliver on its Performance with Purpose vision to create a better tomorrow than
today for MWBEs and the communities they serve.
"In less than eight months, PS Energy Group has more than doubled the original
bulk fuel supply it provides to Frito-Lay sites throughout the United States,
and has become a strategic supplier for us," said Dennis Selle, Manager of Fleet
National Expense Purchasing for Frito-Lay North America.
