Pepsi MAX Field of Dreams winner Tim Wisecup plays ball with MLB greats

Thursday, May 17, 2012

This story ran in PEPline, PepsiCo’s global employee newsletter, and is proudly brought to you by a PepsiCo employee or a friend or family member of a PepsiCo employee.

Baseball fan Tim Wisecup, winner of last year’s Pepsi MAX’s Field of Dreams promotion, stepped up to the plate on May 12 and took the field with some Major League Baseball legends.

Tim, a chemist from Columbus, Ohio, and other residents from his community squared off against greats including Johnny Bench, Frank Thomas, Rod Carew, Wade Boggs, Ozzie Smith, Rickey Henderson and Reggie Jackson. Despite a strong showing from the Ohio crew, the All-Stars defeated the "Average Joes," 12-11.

FOX Home Team Sports will be airing a one-hour broadcast of the game in the following regions:

  • Fox Sports Net Ohio, following the Cincinnati Reds/New York Yankees game – May 19
  • Comcast Chicago, following the Chicago Cubs/Chicago White Sox game – May 20
  • Fox Sports Net West, following the Los Angeles Angels/Oakland A’s game – May 23
  • YES Network (New York market) – Week of May 28. Check local listings.

Additionally, ESPN will present a documentary on the Field of Dreams program, culminating in the game airing on June 7 at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

Voting is currently underway for this year’s Pepsi MAX Field of Dreams program. Through June 15, baseball fans across the U.S. can go to MLB.com/PepsiMAX to cast votes for players in the American and National Leagues and be entered for the chance to play with their favorite baseball legends in a match-up next spring.
