PepsiCo Brazil launches PepsiCo Institute

Tuesday, January 03, 2012

This story ran in PEPline, PepsiCo’s global employee newsletter, and is proudly brought to you by a PepsiCo employee or a friend or family member of a PepsiCo employee.

Newman Debs, vice president, Legal and Corporate Affairs - PepsiCo Brazil and South Cone (left), introduces the PepsiCo Institute.
Last month, PepsiCo Brazil launched the PepsiCo Institute, to act on issues critical to society and the environment in Brazil. The focus of the Institute is access to water, food and education -- initially supporting three strategic partners: ASA Brazil (Semi-Arid Articulation), the IOCHPE Foundation and the Institute of Education and Sports.

PepsiCo Brazil plans to invest $15 million in the Institute over the next five years to fund and support initiatives in the area of social responsibility. In addition to monetary contributions, the Institute will also invest in enhancing the technical skills of employees and the coordination and compliance of business partners, joining forces to bring social development to the communities where the company operates.
