This story ran in PEPline, PepsiCo’s global employee newsletter, and is proudly brought to you by a PepsiCo employee or a friend or family member of a PepsiCo employee.
This summer, PepsiCo again will partner with longtime customer Marriott Hotels to generate donations for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH), an organization that raises funds for 170 children’s hospitals across North America. These hospitals provide approximately $2.5 billion per year of charity care to families in need.
Between May 18 and Sept. 7, participating Marriott Hotel properties will donate a portion of the proceeds from sales of any 20-ounce or one-liter bottle of Lipton or Aquafina beverages to CMNH. PepsiCo also made an initial $10,000 donation to the cause.
Following a successful collaboration in 2011, Marriott was eager to work with PepsiCo this summer on an expanded campaign. “We are very pleased to have suppliers like PepsiCo to partner with on important causes like CMNH and look forward to teaming up on bigger and better ideas in the future,” said Rob Steigerwald, chief operations officer of the Southern Region/Americas for Marriott and a CMNH board member.
“We are excited as always to partner with Marriott and to support such a wonderful cause,” said Kristina Mangelsdorf, chief marketing officer - PepsiCo Foodservice. “I would ask all PepsiCo employees -- and your family and friends -- to please look for the promotion during your summer travels and buy a Lipton or Aquafina beverage where you see the program on display.”
Since 1983, Children’s Miracle Network has raised more than $4 billion, most of it $1 at a time. These donations have gone to support research and training, purchase equipment and pay for uncompensated care.
