Gatorade is rolling out a new limited-time offering (LTO), 28-ounce and 32-ounce Strawberry Lemonade, exclusively at 7-Eleven stores in the U.S. this summer.
The launch will be supported by a consumer promotion in which 39 high schools across the U.S. will have a chance to win $10,000 worth of sports equipment and fuel. Two athletes on the Gatorade roster – track and field Olympic Gold Medal winner Alyson Felix and Minnesota Twins catcher Joe Mauer – will serve as brand ambassadors to drive program awareness. As part of the promotion, consumers can win free Gatorade Prime and Recover with purchase.
Strawberry Lemonade will have a strong presence in 7-Eleven stores, with prominent display cases and Prime and Recover end cap trays, as well as extensive outdoor signage.
7-Eleven has made the launch of Gatorade Strawberry Lemonade one of their top corporate priorities over the summer.
"In the first week of sales, the 7-Eleven Gatorade exclusive flavor Strawberry Lemonade has already become the No. 1 selling isotonic in the category and has reached the No. 7 best seller among all non-alcoholic beverages," said Dennis Phelps, senior director, Merchandising for 7-Eleven. "This success really shows that when we partner to focus on consumer needs, we can achieve a lot.”
