May is National Military Appreciation Month, a time to honor current and former members of the U.S. Armed Forces. Veterans and military families are the backbone of this country, and at PepsiCo, we’re working to support them any way we can. 

  • PepsiCo has been ranked by the Washington Post as #1 in hiring veterans among America’s 50 largest companies. We have also received the US Chamber of Commerce award for veteran hiring, and been consistently recognized by GI Jobs with a top-25 ranking among best places to work for veterans.
  • PepsiCo and the PepsiCo Foundation have donated $1 million and other support to the Bob Woodruff Foundation, a national nonprofit dedicated to serving post-9/11 injured service members, veterans and their families, and the caregivers and communities that support them.
  • PepsiCo supports Carry the Load, a nonprofit committed to honoring the sacrifices made by members of the military, law enforcement officers, firefighters, and their families—especially those who have died or been wounded while “carrying the load” for their fellow Americans.
  • In November 2017, the PepsiCo Foundation announced a $750,000 grant to the Warrior-Scholar Project, an intensive program hosted by America's top universities to prepare student-veterans for the transition from a military culture to an academic culture. In addition, as a founding partner of the Business Initiative, PepsiCo leaders will be mentoring students as they transition into their new jobs.
  • PepsiCo is a founding member of American Corporate Partners (ACP), a nonprofit focused on easing the transition from military service to civilian life. Since ACP’s founding in 2008, PepsiCo has provided more than 400 mentors to the organization, each of whom is paired with a military veteran based on career goals and preferences. The two then focus on topics ranging from building a “civilian-friendly” résumé to refining networking skills.
  • Each May, PepsiCo’s Rolling Remembrance program helps spread awareness and raise funds for the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, which identifies and supports the 20,000 Gold Star children of troops killed in the line of duty over the past 35 years. The program includes a relay of PepsiCo big rig trucks – all driven by PepsiCo employees who are also U.S. military veterans. The trucks travel over 8,000 miles across the United States, carrying an American flag originally flown on a UH-60M Blackhawk Helicopter in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom in 2012. To date, Rolling Remembrance has raised more than $360,000 for the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, with $203,000 coming from last year’s campaign alone.
  • Each year, members of VALOR lead numerous charitable and recognition events that benefit and honor veterans and their families. These include Battle of the Brains and Fitness Challenge events each Veterans Day, which have raised over $135,000 for charities, and the VALOR Memorial Day Flag Planting Program, which honors family members of PepsiCo associates who served our country.
