It’s been a big year for PepsiCo in our ongoing pursuit of building a more sustainable food system. We’ve made aggressive moves on climate action with our commitment to renewable energy and a pledge to limit global warming. Today the CDP commended PepsiCo on our achievements and named us to its prestigious “A List” for being a leader on climate transparency and action.

CDP, a leading environmental non-profit, conducts in-depth research on how companies and governments are working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, safeguard water resources and protect forests. Out of more than 5,800 ranked organizations, PepsiCo was recognized, along with a small number of other high-performing companies, for our actions to cut emissions, mitigate climate risks and develop the low-carbon economy.

The news comes on the heels of major announcements in 2020. Early this year, PepsiCo signed the UN’s Business Ambition for 1.5°C pledge, joining other leading companies in the quest to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. The pledge also includes a commitment to develop a long-term strategy to achieve net-zero emissions. We also announced a transition to 100% renewable electricity across all U.S. direct operations, while committing to 100% renewable electricity globally.

PepsiCo also received A- scores from CDP in the Forest and Water Security categories.
