Beyond the bottle
Meeting consumers' individual needs whether they're at home, away from home, or on-the-go.
At PepsiCo, we aspire to be the world’s most responsible beverage company. As part of this vision, we are committed to offering consumers a range of great-tasting beverages while making our packaging more sustainable and fueling our future growth. That’s why we’ve been working to create a portfolio of options that go beyond the bottle, meeting consumers’ individual needs and putting smiles on their faces, no matter whether they’re at home, away from home, or on-the-go.
Our beyond the bottle offerings range from SodaStream, a sparkling water maker that empowers consumers to personalize their preferred beverage in an environmentally friendly way, to Drinkfinity, a recyclable pod and reusable vessel solution for beverages with 65% less plastic than comparable 20oz beverages, to the mobile-enabled hydration platform, addressing consumer demands for smarter and more sustainable on-the-go beverage options, to Spire, a digital fountain that lets you personalize your favorite PepsiCo beverage brand.
Together, these offerings are helping us meet the evolving consumer demand for more-sustainable and convenient ways of consuming our beverages.
SodaStream enables consumers to easily transform ordinary tap water into sparkling water and flavored sparkling water in seconds. By making ordinary water fun and exciting to drink, SodaStream helps consumers drink more water. Sparkling Water Makers offer a highly differentiated and innovative solution to consumers of bottled and canned carbonated soft drinks. They promote health and wellness, are environmentally friendly, cost effective, customizable and fun to use.
Drinkfinity is an innovative personalized hydration platform with its foundation in a reusable bottle. Consumers can simply refill the bottle with water, or if they’re looking for a delicious & refreshing beverage, add a snap-on Pod to the top. The Pods are low-calorie and contain no artificial sweeteners or artificial flavors. Compared to a typical disposable 20-ounce bottle beverage, a Pod uses 65 percent less plastics and has a 40 percent lower carbon footprint, in part because it takes 7 times fewer trucks to deliver them. Drinkfinity embraces a reuse companion, where consumers can send a bag of 30 Pods to Loop Industries, which will take care of recycling them.
The hydration platform is a connected ecosystem built to reflect how people drink water today, made up of three components: a beautifully designed hydration dispenser, a companion, user-friendly smartphone app, and a personalized QR code sticker for reusable bottles that allows consumers to be effortlessly recognized by the dispenser. This ecosystem allows users to set their own daily hydration goals and automatically tracks their way to meeting them. Additionally, it tracks their environmental impact with a unique count of plastic bottles saved with each pour as well as over time saves unique preferences (like favorite flavors and carbonation levels) for future use.
PepsiCo will launch the platform at select workplaces, universities, and hospitality partners where there is the greatest desire to access still and carbonated water and both sustainable and customizable drink options. This is just one example of how PepsiCo Foodservice is driving growth by developing innovative, engaging equipment to offer the foods and beverages that consumers want.
The Pepsi Spire is a digital fountain that makes the beverage experience more engaging by enabling consumers to create hundreds of customized drinks at the touch of a button.
Pepsi Spire lets you mix up a totally custom creation; it’s your drink, your way. You call the shots: add up to three flavors to customize your drink. Choose from cherry, vanilla, strawberry, lemon and more.
All in on recycling
