This March, Doritos is adding something extra to the mix. Introducing Doritos® Protein tortilla style chips: the iconic chip, now with 10 grams of protein per one-ounce serving and 17 grams per single-serve bag later this year.

This is still uncompromisingly Doritos. Just simply giving fans another option that fits the way they snack.

Because here’s the thing: protein is having a moment. A big one. 86%¹ of Americans are actively adding more protein to their diets¹. People want their crunch to work a little harder.

“This innovation underscores PepsiCo Foods’ commitment to evolving its portfolio to meet shifting consumer preferences toward foods with functional ingredients," says Hernán Tantardini, Chief Marketing Officer, PepsiCo Foods U.S. "Seventy percent of consumers want their salty snacks to have protein and now we are making it more accessible and seamlessly integrated into everyday snacking occasions without compromising the distinctive Doritos experience.”

Doritos Protein comes in two fan-favorite flavors — Nacho Cheese and Sweet & Tangy BBQ — reflecting PepsiCo Foods’ ongoing commitment to expand offerings and give consumers more choices across its portfolio.

Free of artificial colors or flavors, Doritos Protein includes dairy-based protein (casein) to deliver a high-quality protein source while preserving the bold, cheese‑forward flavor profile Doritos is known for. By keeping it in a format that’s already familiar, Doritos Protein brings functional ingredients to the snack aisle without sacrificing flavor and crunch.

“The launch of Doritos Protein marks our strategic expansion into the protein snack category. We’re elevating the bold flavor and signature snacking experience consumers expect by using novel flavor and seasoning methods. Now, each one-ounce serving delivers 10 grams of protein, and a single-serve bag with 17 grams of protein is coming later this year,” says Tantardini.

Doritos Protein Nacho Cheese and Sweet & Tangy BBQ flavors will hit store shelves in March at select retailers across the U.S. with additional rollout later this year.
