POWDR and PepsiCo Partner to Deliver Innovative New Programming That Enhances the Mountain Experience and Protects the Adventure Lifestyle for Future Generations
As Official Beverage Provider, PepsiCo Will Support a Variety of Fun and Unique Benefits and Amenities Across POWDR Properties Including Mobile Restaurants, Increased Sustainability Initiatives and More
PARK CITY, Utah., March 24, 2021 – POWDR, an adventure lifestyle company on a mission to deliver memorable experiences, enhance people's lives and have fun doing it, announced a new partnership with PepsiCo as the official beverage partner at 10 of POWDR’s mountain resorts and five Woodward destinations.
“We’re thrilled to have PepsiCo as POWDR’s new partner because of our shared vision for animating the resort and Woodward experience,” said Wade Martin, POWDR co-president. “Together, we look forward to building stronger relationships with our guests and delivering memorable experiences they will seek out in their pursuit of the adventure lifestyle.”
The POWDR and PepsiCo partnership will provide resort and Woodward guests with innovative programming that enhances the mountain experience and offers unique benefits and amenities. At Copper Mountain, Colo., Killington, Vt., and Snowbird, Utah, POWDR will introduce all-new, customized mobile food and Mtn Dew and Pepsi-branded culinary experiences. Aptly named “Sendy’s,” “The Beastro” and “Gadzooks,” paying homage to the resort names and experiences, these chef-inspired mobile restaurants will offer guests locally-sourced grab-and-go options.
As part of Play Forever, POWDR’s corporate responsibility commitment to protect the environment and enable participation, each mobile food and culinary experience will feature a dedicated TerraCycle® Recycling station with specific waste streams to divert chip wrappers and single-use plastic bottles from landfills using Zero Waste Boxes™. In addition to the TerraCycle Recycling stations, PepsiCo and POWDR also are working together to increase waste signage in food and beverage outlets to encourage guests to properly sort waste to increase recycling rates and minimize what ends up in the landfill.
The POWDR and PepsiCo partnership also will feature exciting brand activations and events to amplify the consumer experience and celebrate the snowsports community. Copper Mountain will host the Winter Dew Tour competition and festival in the 2021/22 season. In partnership with professional snowboarder, Woodward ambassador and Olympian, Danny Davis, Mtn Dew presented the recent Woodward Peace Parks Across America content series and will be a presenting partner of the Woodward Peace Park Championships in spring 2022. Launched in 2019 at select POWDR properties, Woodward Peace Parks are open for skiing and riding at five locations across the country. As part of Mtn Dew’s longstanding commitment to progression in action sports, PepsiCo created custom Woodward Peace Park art installations at each host property during the 2020/21 season.
“PepsiCo is excited to partner with POWDR mountain and Woodward destinations to engage with enthusiasts who share our passion for unique experiences,” said Hugh Roth, PepsiCo Foodservice Chief Customer Officer. “POWDR’s active outdoor community is a great audience to inspire innovation, and make the most of more sustainable solutions.”
In addition to PepsiCo helping to enhance the guest experience through culinary offerings, sustainability solutions and programming, guests of POWDR resorts and the Woodward properties will benefit from the diverse PepsiCo portfolio designed to bring a smile to people’s faces anywhere, anytime they’re enjoying food and beverages. From Pepsi, Mtn Dew and Gatorade to bubly, LIFEWTR and Naked, guests will appreciate a full range of choices to meet their individual tastes and preferences. People also will enjoy options from the PepsiCo foods portfolio including Lay’s, Doritos and Sabra.
