Steve Schmitt joined PepsiCo in 2025 and serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, where he leads all facets of financial planning and analysis, accounting and controllership, mergers and acquisitions, treasury, tax, investor relations and internal audit.
Prior to PepsiCo, Steve spent nearly a decade at Walmart. He most recently served as EVP and CFO for Walmart U.S., overseeing the finance function for the retailer’s multi-billion-dollar omni-channel U.S. organization and leading the core financial activities of its largest business unit. He played an important role in the transformation of Walmart into an omnichannel retailer enabled by digital transformation and led cost discipline initiatives.
Earlier in his career, Steve held a variety of roles at Yum! Brands, where he developed deep expertise in QSR and the away-from-home business and evaluated long-term strategies for the company, including strategic opportunities to support growth. He began his career with UPS, spending more than a decade with the company.
Steve holds a BSBA in Accounting from the University of Louisville and an MBA from Indiana University Southeast. He is married, a father of two, and is based in Purchase, NY.
