The pantry has officially entered its multitasking era. It’s no longer just where the canned goods get stacked, the cereal lives, and the crackers go to be forgotten. For busy families, it has become part breakfast station, part lunchbox lifeline, part hydration hub, part snack drawer and part “what can we make in 10 minutes?” dinner solution. PepsiCo is helping meet that shift with foods and drinks built for more moments across the day.

What is a do-it-all pantry?

A do-it-all pantry is stocked with foods and drinks that support daily needs — from breakfast and lunchboxes to hydration, snacks, energy and easy meals. It’s a practical response to a familiar question: How can one grocery trip help make the week feel easier? With the right staples on hand, families can avoid last-minute store runs and move through busy routines with more flexibility.

Why are families rethinking pantry staples?

New PepsiCo research shows parents want pantry options that are not only convenient, but more purposeful. In a PepsiCo Foods survey, 78% of parents said they want salty snacks to contain protein1, while 77% believe snacks can help increase fiber intake1. At the same time, 62% of Americans said they are looking to increase their protein intake in 20261. Together, those findings point to a pantry shaped by protein, fiber, hydration, portability, value and options that can flex across more than one occasion.

What belongs in a do-it-all pantry?

In the snack aisle, that can look like PopCorners Protein Zesty Cheddar with 9 grams of protein per 1 oz serving, Smartfood FiberPop Sweet & Salty with 6 grams of fiber per serving or Good Warrior Beef Sticks with 10 grams of protein. It can also look like snack cups of PepsiCo favorites like Lay’s Stax or mini canisters of Cheetos — small enough for a lunchbox and easy enough to eat on-the-go.

Busy mornings are also shaping what families want from the pantry. According to the survey, 80% of parents say a balanced breakfast sets the day up right1 and 75% aim to eat one every morning1 but 58% wish they had more time for it1. That’s where pantry-friendly options like Quaker Protein Old Fashioned Rolled Oats and Quaker High Protein Instant Oatmeal can help simplify busy mornings. When paired with other nutritious foods, such as fruit, dairy or other protein sources, these products can contribute to a balanced breakfast, making the morning meal feel less like a production and more like a plan.

Hydration has also moved from “nice to have” to part of the everyday checklist. For school, sports, commuting or simply trying to keep up with a packed calendar, Propel, Gatorade Zero and Gatorlyte powders can fit into the modern pantry as portable options that support daily hydration routines.

Before heading out, pivot from the pantry to the fridge to grab great-tasting drinks like an ice-cold Pepsi Prebiotic Cola, which has no artificial sweeteners and 3 grams of prebiotic fiber.

Families also want pantry staples that can be enjoyed from breakfast to snack time to accompanying weeknight meals. Products like Tostitos and Doritos Protein can be helpful ingredients already on hand to elevate meals. Tostitos can anchor a quick tray of nachos for dinner or a casual gathering. Doritos Protein can pair with meats, vegetables, sauces, toppings and other staples. These are the kinds of products that earn their shelf space because they can work in more than one way. Quaker Oat Shake & Go, which can be made with cold milk, milk alternative or water, offers a convenient, nutritious option for busy mornings.

Why does value matter in the do-it-all pantry?

Value is part of the equation, too. PepsiCo research found 40% of parents looked for more sales, coupons or discounts1, a reminder that the pantry has to work for both busy schedules and household budgets. Through PepsiCo partners including Amazon and Walmart, families can set up automated deliveries for the products they reach for most — keeping staples on hand without adding another errand to the list.

How can pantry planning feel easier?

The do-it-all pantry is not about having more for the sake of more. It’s about keeping the right mix of food and drinks on hand to flex with a family’s day, supporting different needs and making the next decision a little easier. Breakfast options, hydration, snack time, focus, fuel and family meals all become a little easier when the right options are within reach. Because when the calendar is full, the pantry should not be another thing to manage. It should be the thing that helps.
