PepsiCo and the PepsiCo Foundation Support Hurricane Ian Relief Efforts

In response to the recent devastation caused by Hurricane Ian, including widespread flooding and severe power outages, PepsiCo and the PepsiCo Foundation are partnering with the Salvation Army, Team Rubicon and other local partners to support Florida communities impacted by the recent storm.

With over 8,000 associates in Florida, employee safety is a primary concern. PepsiCo and the PepsiCo Foundation are working closely with associates in the region to ensure they are safe and providing additional benefits including pay protection, hotel reimbursement, time off for the necessary recovery, and resources such as ice, non-perishable food items, beverages, and fuel. The PepsiCo Foundation has also activated PEPhelp, an employee-to-employee program that provides financial assistance to PepsiCo employees affected by natural disasters.

In addition, PepsiCo and the PepsiCo Foundation are mobilizing quickly to provide more than $500,000 in support for community relief efforts including by providing shelf-stable Food for Good meals and PepsiCo beverage and food products. The company’s response efforts include:

  • Donating 75,000 nutritious, shelf-stable Food for Good meals to be distributed to those in need by The Salvation Army at emergency shelters in the area.
  • Partnering with the Salvation Army to support community relief efforts including 47 mobile kitchen canteens across Florida to distribute food, hygiene kits, spiritual and emotional care, long-term recovery support, and other critical resources.
  • Partnering with Team Rubicon to support rebuild and recovery efforts including mucking and gutting flooded homes, expedient home repair like tarping roofs, and emergency response teams that are clearing roadways of trees and debris for first responders.
  • Donating PepsiCo food and beverage products including thousands of cases of water and Gatorade to first responders and disaster relief organizations such as FEMA, American Red Cross, Salvation Army and Mercy Meals.

To further support Hurricane Ian relief efforts, the PepsiCo Foundation will match $2 for every $1 of employee donations to organizations providing critical relief for impacted communities. Additionally, the Foundation will promote volunteer opportunities for PepsiCo employees with Team Rubicon to aid with ongoing recovery efforts.

As the situation continues to evolve, PepsiCo and the PepsiCo Foundation will continue to explore ways to expand their support for impacted associates and communities in the days ahead.

PepsiCo and the PepsiCo Foundation urge others to offer their support. Donations can be made online in support of relief efforts to The Salvation Army, Team Rubicon, and American Red Cross.
